cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM), held each October, has educated
women about early breast cancer detection, diagnosis and treatment.
About 212,920 women in the United States will be found to have invasive
breast cancer in 2006. Invasive cancer spreads outside the milk
duct or milk-making glands, growing into normal tissue inside the
breast. About 40,970 women will die from the disease this year and
slightly over 2 million women living in the United States have been
