We’ve either known someone personally, or heard of someone affected and dying from cancer. The word implies an outside force attacking the core of the body. Such a formidable disease is difficult to tolerate, and when a child is forced to carry such a burden, the disease becomes increasingly intolerable. The fight against cancer is a cultural effort, and yet there are certain people and organizations who make it their personal mission to battle this plague.  |

He played the bleached blond teen idol we’ve all grown to love, and now he’s the stunning and handsome public defender on Raising the Bar. Born in Panorama City to a Dutch father and Indonesian mother, actor Mark-Paul Gosselaar is one of four children who decided to take the Hollywood route. “I started at age four doing printwork,” states Mark-Paul, “eventually working my way into commercials and television.” The talented actor has made guest appearances on shows such as Punky Brewster, Charles in Charge and The Wonder Years, to name a few, before landing the starring role as the popular Zack Morris on the television sitcom, Saved by the Bell. |

Just across the River Mersey was Liverpool, a city where British talent was taking over the music scene throughout Britain and all over the world – most notably, the Beatles. “Everybody wanted to be part of this pulsating scene,” states Nigel, “the general feeling in this vibrant area of New Brighton was, ‘if the Beatles can become a world force and they come from Liverpool, so can we.’” |
