He played the bleached blond teen idol we’ve all grown to love, and now he’s the stunning and handsome public defender on Raising the Bar. Born in Panorama City to a Dutch father and Indonesian mother, actor Mark-Paul Gosselaar is one of four children who decided to take the Hollywood route. “I started at age four doing printwork,” states Mark-Paul, “eventually working my way into commercials and television.” The talented actor has made guest appearances on shows such as Punky Brewster, Charles in Charge and The Wonder Years, to name a few, before landing the starring role as the popular Zack Morris on the television sitcom, Saved by the Bell.

LOST’s Sterling Beaumon - June/July 2009

He played an evolved human, has befriended ghosts and is now the younger version of a really “creepy dude.” He’s Sterling Beaumon, a young and vibrant actor and Santa Clarita resident who just returned from filming on the LOST set in Hawaii. I had the wonderful opportunity to talk to the teen star.

Nigel Lythgoe - Apr/May 09

Nigel Lythgoe grew up in New Brighton, a beautiful seaside resort in Merseyside, England. Just across the River Mersey was Liverpool, a city where British talent was taking over the music scene throughout Britain and all over the world – most notably, the Beatles. “Everybody wanted to be part of this pulsating scene,” states Nigel, “the general feeling in this vibrant area of New Brighton was, ‘if the Beatles can become a world force and they come from Liverpool, so can we.’”

A Family Recipe for Success - Feb/Mar 09

twilight Sets on Taylor Lautner - Dec 08 / Jan 09

Earlier this year it was confirmed that Santa Clarita’s own Valencia High School graduate, Taylor Lautner, would be playing the wise-cracking, lovable role of Jacob Black in the upcoming action-romance movie “twilight.” I was lucky to have an opportunity to sit down and interview this extremely busy, yet “cool” young actor. With a lively and cheerful personality that can be felt instantly when in his company, one cannot help but be delighted to meet Taylor.

Rising Above it All - Oct/Nov 2008

Imagine being an unusually tall, skinny kid, dealing with braces, puberty and peer pressure, then top it off with dyslexia. Imagine the fear and panic that would set in during class knowing that your turn is coming and you can’t read the paragraph. You practice reading the paragraph to yourself over and over again so that you could avoid the predictable embarrassment you would feel when the class snickered behind your back only to have the kid in front of you read the paragraph you practiced.
