The holidays are finally here and there’s nothing better than gathering around with family and friends enjoying all the season’s festivities.  It is indeed the most wonderful time of the year, as winter in the Santa Clarita Valley brings brisk cooler days and chilly nights.

The summer fades and is replaced by the beauty of fall and everything splendid it has to offer.  The vibrant colors of autumn bloom fill our valley and we say goodbye to the hot summer days and welcome the cool winds of the new season.  It is such a wonderful time of the year in the Santa Clarita Valley, bringing our residents cooler temperatures and beautiful surroundings.

Success and inspiration seem to be an underlying theme of the stories in this issue of élite.  Meet the man on our cover, Nigel Lythgoe, who is most recognized for being the creator, executive producer and regular judge of So You Think You Can Dance.  Take a moment to read about his life as he danced his way to success.  Nigel will be making his way to Santa Clarita as the keynote speaker at the Ladies in Business Conference on Friday, May 15 at the Hyatt Valencia.

As her employees gather to take a “family” photo, learn about her recipe for success and loyalty of her employees as many of them began their first job at Rattlers and still continue to be part of their winning team some 20 years later.

As the end of 2008 approaches and we look forward to the upcoming holidays, we do so with a spirit of joy and excitement.  We find ourselves energized by the opportunities that lie ahead.  As we drive around our valley, we’re pleased to see the price of gas declining and home values again on the rise.  Yes, it’s been a challenging year for many of us, but economic indicators are favorable and we look forward to a strong business climate for our Valley in the coming year.

What a wonderful time of year Fall is in Santa Clarita.  The days are still long, but the temperatures are dropping and there’s an energy that comes with the cooler days and evenings. True, our trees don’t turn the brilliant reds and oranges that you might find in other parts of the country, but we won’t be shoveling snow three months from now either.
